Thanks Spooky's House of Books for the questionnaire!
Do you have a certain place in your home for reading?
No, but I usually read on the couch, in bed, or any quiet place I can get to!
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I have a lovely bookmark my mother bought me, but if I don't have it with me, I use a post it note (the sticky side keeps it in place and is less likely to fall out).
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop read after a chapter / certain number of pages?
I cannot stop reading until I get to a good stopping place, usually the end of the chapter.
Do you eat or drink while read?
Not normally. I don't want to stain the book. (well, truth be told, I am normally lying down while reading...not conducive to eating or drinking!)
Multitasking: music or TV while reading?
No way....Cannot read if others are making noise.
One book at a time or several at once?
I like to read one at a time, but recently I was able to get two historical fiction reads in while I took a break from a book I am seriously studying.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Silently
Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
I don't like to read ahead because I love surprises and I don't want to ruin (what could possibly be) a good thing. I don't like to skip pages for the same reason. If I have the notion to read ahead or skip pages, that is a good sign I am just not into the book.
Barking the spine or keeping it like new?
I love to keep the spines of my books like new. That could be because I am a librarian, but, well...anyway.
Do you write in your books?
Not usually. I was always taught never to write in books! I has taken me years to learn to jot notes in my Bible as references to other scripture, or notes from a sermon or personal study. I try to keep a notebook when I read a book as to not take away from the text (in case someone else will read my copy of the book), but sometimes I find it necessary to keep notes with the actual text.
